Hi folks!

So seems like I'm on a "sharing" spree with the posts about the many events I've been hosting the last few months. Not to forget the added pressure by my One -Man- Army who manages my work ;)

Spontaneity is something which is expected of you if you're a performer on stage. With experience one gets better with it. It is something I have always truly relied on.

Even as an actor, if there is something I detest with all my heart it is "rehearsals".

Having said this, I do not mean- I like to just go up to stage or in front of camera and start gabbing!

I rehearse only to get the camera positions or to get into the zone of the character or to check lighting at times. In all honesty, it's either the 1st take or the 2nd or 3rd one which gets my best.. I will do 10 takes if required but they wont be of much use, I can guarantee you that!

Same way, I do a dry-run on stage before the event, but like we all know, feeling the pulse of the audience is what all stage lovers thrive on.

Rubbishing all such frills and fancies of mine- Encompass Events called me a day prior to the event. And lo and behold! I was then informed I would be sharing the stage with the Powerhouse Anchor- Rahman!

For someone who was suffering from high fever that day, this came as a huge relief!

And trust me when I say this, we did'nt have just a meeting that day. We actually said each and every word on our cue cards on the mic that day.

I was told I was chosen because of fluency in Hindi & Telugu and because of some appearances in front of the camera .

After the rehersals, I was advised by the back-stage team to get a bit peppy and louder as to match up to the skills of my co-host. For a change, I just heard them out and did not take it personally because that can get disheartening for a performer you know!

Coming to the day of the event, this one required a lot of awareness from the anchors- We had to announce the questions to the contestants in various languages, wait for the timer to begin, keep an eye who pressed the buzzer first etc...

All in all, this was a very meticulously planned event. Contestants who came from all parts of India were extrememly competitive in the right spirit. BBC being the channel partner made sure moments of joy, tears, winning, losing, tension everything was

captured.

Can I add that it was a treat to share stage with the multi-talented ( & child-hood crush) Jimmy Shergill?

Also, at the end of the event my advisor came up to me and hugged me saying that I had taken the feedback given to me the previous day positively and it showed!! (Could not tell her the fever had reduced ;)

Below is the video clip of this prestigious event. Tell me what you think of it :)
