Ingredients for a fun Indian wedding anyone? Love, laughter, good music, loads of dancing, food, friends...right? Indeed, all these do make an event a grand success but truth be told, no wedding goes on as smoothly as they show us in Bollywood films.
On the day of the wedding there is bound to be someone panicking, someone running late for the rituals, someone wanting to rush back home because of the delay in getting the event started. In short , chaos is the underbelly of all weddings. If you've organised one, I'm sure you will agree with me.
Now this is where artists come in. Yes, we are all artists and at the event of a grand wedding, we definitely want to showcase our art at it's best. And why not? Isn't that why we grace such occassions with our presence? If you've ever been to an Indian Sangeet/ Haldi/ Reception you know where I am going with this.. yes, you got it right...perfect recipe for more chaos when family begins to display their art in an unorganised manner.
When I say " Artist" I mean a professional Master/ Mistress of Ceremonies or an Anchor who will not only ease the nerves of the young bride and groom, ensure that the maestro dancing performers who are their own siblings or friends not only give it their best but leave the stage on a memorable note. Very importantly, the elderly who are sometimes left out because of the Gen-Z lapping up all the attention will feel all the more embraced in the fun celebrations.
